Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
Welcome Back! I hope you and your student had a wonderful summer!
My name is Ms. Trayshia Rogers and I will be your child’s eighth grade homeroom teacher this school year. I hope you are as enthusiastic as I am to get the 2016-2017 school year off to a fantastic start!
Last year, I was extremely excited about teaching your 7th grader. This year, we are going to take things to another level of creativity, participation, and growth! It is an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to cycle up with my 7th graders.
This year it is especially imperative that we challenge our students, and reinforce quality habits that will set the tone for the next four years of their life. It is imperative that this year’s experiences serve as concrete stepping-stones that prepare our students for the rest of their academic endeavors. Furthermore, I am eager for your child to engage in learning activities for Literacy and Writing.
Your role in your child’s education is extremely important to his/her success. It is important that you make sure your child attends school daily and on time. Homework will be assigned in Reading and Writing daily. Please be aware, the middle school team will send home a more detailed packet regarding homework, our classroom rules and discipline policy.
As a reminder, our school supply system has changed for this year. Instead of each parent purchasing supplies, the school has purchased all supplies for every student. We are asking that each family submit their $20 or $30 fee to the main office by September 9.
I look forward to working with you and your child. Provided you have any questions or concerns about this upcoming school year, please contact me at the school via phone 212.427.7900 or via email [email protected]. Additionally, I look forward to meeting you at Back To School Night on September 15 at 3:45PM.
Best Regards,
Ms. Rogers
